American Idol winner Jordin Sparks is getting torched online for asking Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry if she’ll read her screenplay.

The “No Air” vocalist, 36, publicly lobbied for Berry to read her script in an X post on Wednesday.

“Hiiii @halleberry !” Sparks wrote. “I sent you a dm because I wrote a screenplay about hormones and menopause and know you’d be the right person to talk to about it! Hope you’re having a great day! đŸ€â€

The move makes sense, given Berry is an outspoken menopause awareness advocate. She is the founder of the menopause care company Respin and has previously spoken in depth about her own health journey on programs like The Drew Barrymore Show.

But, because the internet loves to dunk on people, Sparks’ comment section was flooded with X users ripping into her for reaching out so publicly.

“Baby go back to learning how to breathe with no air,” one user wrote. Another added, “This is real? There are other ways for you reach out to Halle Berry. Pathetic way to try and get to a celebrity when you’re a supposed celebrity.”

A third commented, “You don’t have an agent/manager that can make the connection?”

But not everyone was against Sparks shooting her shot. “People, Halle is literally a menopause advocate,” one user wrote. “She's very outspoken about it. Which is why Jordan is reaching out.”

Another noted that Berry was a perfect person to reach out to about the script. “This is a great initiative,” a second noted, “seeing as she’s [Berry] been vocal about these issues. I hope she sees this.”

A third added, “Pitch that thing. Wishing you the best Jordan!”

Berry opened up about her difficult experience with perimenopause during a September episode of The Drew Barrymore Show.

“I was 54, and felt like I got dropped into hell,” she explained at the time. “Nobody ever talked to me about [perimenopause]. I was scared. I was alone. I had no one to talk to. I didn’t know what to do. I thought I was losing my mind.”

She continued, “And I thought, ‘Oh, this is what’s happening. I’m getting old now. Now I just go off into oblivion and nobody’s gonna care anymore.’ That’s what I felt. And I was very depressed. Very depressed. And cried all the time — I was a mess.”
