Are Visa and Mastercard down? Users report problems
If you pay for things by credit card, you might want to check ahead before shopping tonight.
According to Downdetector, there are problems with both Visa and Mastercard on Monday afternoon.
The site shows that there are more than 100 problems reported with Visa on Monday, with the bulk, nearly 75 percent with using debit cards. The other 25 percent were problems with credit cards.

It’s not just Visa.
Also according to Downdetector, there were more than 50 reported problems with Mastercard. About half of those problems were with fund transfers, another 38 percent couldn’t use mobile banking, while some couldn’t get onto the website.
Both problems popped up fairly recently, so it's possible this will be a quick fix. It's just something to be aware of.
