Aubrey Plaza and boyfriend Christopher Abbott have welcomed their first child together.

In photos first published by TMZ on August 9, Plaza was spotted holding her newborn baby at Abbott’s final performance of Death of a Salesman on Broadway.

Plaza and Abbott went from longtime collaborators to romantic partners in late 2025.

Congratulations are in order for Aubrey Plaza and Christopher Abbott, who have officially entered parenthood with the arrival of their first child.

On August 9, TMZ published photos of Plaza at Abbott’s final performance of Death of a Salesman on Broadway, in which she held their newborn baby. The outlet also reported the couple welcomed a baby girl during the last week of July. People alsoreported on August 10 that the couple welcomed their child. Reps for Plaza and Abbott did not immediately respond to InStyle’s request for comment.

The Parks and Recreation alum was confirmed to be pregnant in early April. “It was a beautiful surprise after an emotional year,” a source told People on April 7. “They feel very blessed.” A rep for Plaza verified the news in the same story, and hours later, Plaza debuted her baby bump while walking her dog in New York City.

The following day, Plaza and Abbott enjoyed a sweet, rare date night at the opening night after-party for the Broadway revival of Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman. Abbott stars in the show, alongside Nathan Lane and Laurie Metcalf, and a smiley Plaza was in tow to show her support.

Plaza broke her silence on her pregnancy in mid-April while appearing on the “Smartless” podcast. “There’s a baby inside of me,” she told hosts Will Arnett, Jason Bateman, and Sean Hayes. “I got an ultrasound on my stomach, and there is a baby in there. It already has a cloak and a little hat. I think it’s gonna come out,” she joked.

When asked if she was excited about the motherhood, she replied, “I am. Yeah. I’ve always wanted, I’ve always wanted, I’ve always wanted to see what that’s all about, you know? It just seems so interesting, that whole thing.”

On April 17, Plaza’s baby bump made its red carpet debut. She draped her belly in a floral babydoll dress by Stella McCartney for a Kevin screening.

Abbott, best known for his role as Charlie on Girls, broke his silence a month later, telling Jenna Bush Harger and Sheinelle Jones on Today With Jenna and Sheinelle, “It’s very exciting.”

Plaza and Abbott first collaborated on the 2020 thriller-comedy Black Bear, before reuniting on off-Broadway play Danny and the Deep Blue Sea in 2023.Their professional relationship took a romantic turn in late 2025.

Their coupling came months after Plaza’s estranged husband Jeff Baena died by suicide in January 2025. Plaza and Baena were separated for four months before his passing. The Honey Don’t! actress opened up about her grief during an August interview on Amy Poehler’s “Good Hang” podcast.

“At all times there’s, like, a giant ocean of awfulness that’s like, right there, and I can see it,” Plaza said. “Sometimes I just want to dive into it and just, like, be in it. Then sometimes I just look at it, and sometimes I try to get away from it. But it’s always there.”
