Billy Ray Cyrus is celebrating two important women in his life.
The country star, 64, took to social media on Wednesday, May 13 with a celebratory post to mark the birthdays of his ex-wife, Tish Cyrus, and his late mom, Ruth Ann "Ruthie" Casto.
Billy Ray shared a video of himself playing his 2007 song "Ready, Set, Don't Go" on acoustic guitar and dedicated the performance to "Hannah Montana Nation and all our friends at Disney."
The track, released both solo and as a duet with his daughter and Hannah Montana costar Miley Cyrus on his Home at Last album, was previously featured on the Disney Channel series. The father-daughter duo also performed the duet version on Miley's Best of Both Worlds Tour.
"My mom, Ruthie, [it] happens to be her birthday tomorrow," Billy Ray said of Castro, who died in August 2022 at age 85, in the video. "Somehow this song felt very appropriate for today."
He highlighted one of the song's lyrics about raising an ambitious daughter in the post's caption, "Got stars in her eyes, the prize is hers to win."
"Two of the greatest mothers EVER were born on this day and tomorrow, my mother Ruthie on May 14th … and the mother driving Miley down that driveway as I wrote the song 'Ready Set Don’t Go,'" wrote Billy Ray. "Happy Birthday Tish. Wishing you peace, love, and happiness ... forever."
Tish and Billy Ray split in April 2022 after more than 28 years of marriage. The pair shares daughters Miley, 33, Noah, 26, and Brandi, 38, and sons Trace, 37, and Braison, 32. The "Achy Breaky Heart" singer is also father to son Christopher Cody, 34, with ex Kristen Luckey.

In an interview on Chelsea Handler's Dear Chelsea podcast earlier this month, Tish reflected on the impact of her split from Billy Ray.

"I didn't ever really think I would get a divorce. That was not in the cards at all for me," she said. "I was devastated. I'd been married for so long … I didn't know anything different."
Tish, who married husband Dominic Purcell in 2023, spoke about finding herself in "shock mode" after the split from Billy Ray. "I don't know where I was at," she recalled. "Honestly, I was stoned."
Last year, Billy Ray began dating Elizabeth Hurley after they met while working together on the 2022 movie Christmas in Paradise not long after his split from Tish.

He then married singer Firerose in 2023, but their marriage lasted only seven months. Hurley, 60, and Billy Ray started a relationship after she reached out two years after they first met, and the couple hard-launched their relationship in April 2025.
In an interview with PEOPLE at the Breast Cancer Research Foundation's Hot Pink Party in New York City on Tuesday, May 12, Hurley said she's listened to Billy Ray's upcoming album The Hill "many times" already.
"It is rooted in country, but there's a little blue grass in there and it's quite a mixture actually, but they're beautiful tracks," said Hurley of the project, which comes out June 16.
