Carmen Electra is sharing her thoughts on Brooks Nader diving into the Baywatch universe

Carmen Electra is happy to pass the torch — or, in this case, the red rescue can — to Brooks Nader.
On Monday, March 9, Fox announced that Nader, 29, is joining the cast of the upcoming Baywatch sequel series, set to premiere as part of the network's 2026-2027 season. Electra, who famously starred in the original Baywatch series — about lifeguards who patrol the beaches of Los Angeles County — reacted to Nader's casting while speaking exclusively with PEOPLE at the An Unforgettable Evening charity gala in Los Angeles on March 11.
Asked if she thinks Nader will fit right into the Baywatch world, Electra, 53, replied, "I do. Absolutely. Yeah."
She added that David Chokachi's casting on the show is "well-deserved." Chokachi, 58, is set to reprise his role as Cody Madison from the original series, which aired from 1989 to 2001.

The reboot will see "wild child" Hobie Buchannon (Stephen Amell) working as a Baywatch captain, following in the footsteps of his legendary father, Mitch Buchannon (played by David Hasselhoff in the original series).
"Hobie’s world is turned upside down when Charlie [Jessica Belkin], the daughter he never knew, shows up on his doorstep, eager to carry on the Buchannon family legacy and become a Baywatch lifeguard alongside her dad," a logline reads.

Nader will star as series regular Selene. "Selene is the sharp-tongued Captain of the Zuma beach lifeguards,” her official character description reads. “While she is excellent at her job, she and Baywatch Captain Hobie Buchannon have a very different approach to saving lives that is a constant source of friction.”
“Never on good terms, their relationship only goes downhill after Hobie brings his daughter Charlie onto his team… and it becomes clear that their rivalry goes much deeper than lifeguarding,” per the character description.

Nader celebrated the news of her casting by reposting a photo on Instagram Stories of herself posing in a Baywatch-inspired red one-piece on the cover of the 2023 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue. The Love Thy Nader star wrote, "I've been manifesting this for a minute @si_swimsuit."

In addition to Nader, Amell, Belkin and Chokachi, the Baywatch reboot cast includes Hassie Harrison as Nat, Thaddeus LaGrone as Brad, Shay Mitchell as Trina, Noah Beck as Luke and Livvy Dunne as Grace.
Baywatch’s return was announced by Fox in September 2025, nearly 25 years after the original series came to an end in May 2001.
According to the reboot’s official synopsis, “Fans can expect all the adrenaline-fueled rescues, tangled relationships, complicated chemistry and beachside heroics that defined the original — now with an entirely new cast, contemporary trappings, tensions and challenges, and a renewed mission to protect Southern California’s shoreline.”

Days after Fox announced the new series last year, Electra shared that she would be open to returning to the Baywatch world as she teased that she was "talking to" the team behind the reboot "right now."
She told TMZ at the time that it "could be fun" to reprise her role as lifeguard Lani McKenzie and don the iconic red swimsuit again. "I don't know if I'd want to be in the water necessarily, but I could do the slow-motion run — I can definitely do that," she said.
"I still look really good in that suit, so that is not a problem," she added.
