Charlize Theron Shares Rare Photos With Her Two Kids Jackson and August for Mother's Day: "The Greatest Honor"

Charlize Theron shared rare photos of her kids Jackson, 14, and August, 11, in honor of Mother's Day.
One of the snaps showed the actress and her girls smiling while soaking up the sun.
Theron adopted Jackson in 2012, and August followed in 2015.
Charlize Theron took a moment to celebrate her kids, Jackson, 14, and August, 11, on Mother's Day. In a touching Instagram post, the mom-of-two gushed that being their mother was "the greatest honor of my life." She added, "Happy mother’s day to all moms, oumas and godmothers 💜."

The post also featured a series of rare photos of Theron with her girls. In the first snap, the actress cuddled up with her children on a boat as they soaked up the sun. The second and third images were sweet smiling selfies.

Theron adopted Jackson in 2012, and August followed in 2015.

Theron opened up about her motherhood journey, sharing that she had always planned on adopting children. “Even when I was in relationships, I was always honest with my partners, that adoption was how my family would look one day,” she told People in 2018. “This was definitely not a second option for me. It was always my first.”
In 2024, Theron joked about the difficulties that come with having preteens. "Oh, my god, they're so embarrassed by me constantly," she told E!. "They're kids, they’re girls, you know? I have a preteen and I feel like I have a nine-year-old who thinks she's a 13-year-old," Theron said It’s a lot of girl in our house.”

In 2025, Theron once again opened up about her daughters, now in their teens. "I'm getting my ass handed to me," she said. "And by the way, that's teenagers. I know I'm not the only one. It's a house full of women. And we have great moments, and we also have real struggles." However, she added that they're "incredibly empathetic kids."
