Kelsea Ballerini is vowing to “rein it in” following her breakup and recoupling with Chase Stokes.

Speaking on the red carpet of the 2026 Grammys on Sunday, Feb. 2, the country star admitted she’s taking a more measured approach to how much of her personal life she puts out into the world.

"I've always been a chronic oversharer and I think for the first time, at 32 I'm reigning it in," she said in an interview on E! Live from the Red Carpet. "I think my life might just be my life for a while. It feels right."

Ballerini — whose album Patterns earned her a nomination for Best Contemporary Country Album this year —made similar sentiments on the PEOPLE and Entertainment Weekly red carpet pre-show, explaining she learned "a lot" while making the LP.

"I've been such a chronic people pleaser for my whole life and most of my career," she said. "I think I'm starting to shift that in a healthy way."

Ballerini and Stokes sparked dating rumors in January 2023 after he shared a cozy photo of them at a Georgia vs. TCU game. They teased their relationship in interviews before going public at the April 2023 CMT Awards.

But in September 2025, after nearly three years together, the two split. "They’re two adults who gave it their all and tried to do everything they could to make it work, but ultimately couldn’t. It happens," sources close to the couple told PEOPLE exclusively at the time.

That split didn't last long. On New Year's Eve, the singer and Outer Banks actor confirmed they were back together.

"I feel like outwardly, it looked a lot more dramatic than it was," Ballerini told Entertainment Tonight at the 2026 Grammys. "And that was quite the learning lesson for us. But I love him so much. We’ve been together for quite a while now and done a lot of life together and he was with me getting ready today and he’ll be with me when we wrap. I love love and I believe it in it.”

In her New Year's post, Ballerini shared thoughts on her rekindled romance, acknowledging their hard times.

"Messy year for the heart, messy year for the outside coming in, messy year for the way it became an out of our hands portrayal of it," she wrote over a photo of her and Stokes embracing with a sunset in the background.

"But what I’ll say," she continued, "and all I really care to share indefinitely with my personal life anymore, is that I really love love. I believe in it, I believe in him, and I believe in breaking patterns. Now go kiss your person and stop speculating."

The Grammys are broadcasting live from Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on CBS or stream them live and on-demand on Paramount+.
