Multiplatinum country star Jimmie Allen of Delaware, who just headlined a local festival, must pay close to $2 million in damages to a woman who accused him of sexual assault, People reported.
Federal judge Aleta A. Trauger ruled on June 18 that the "Best Shot" singer has to pay "punitive damages" and "compensatory damages" to a sexual assault accuser known as "Jane Doe 2," who brought a sexual assault lawsuit against him three years ago on June 9, 2023, according to the report.
Because Allen didn't respond, it resulted in the court awarding Jane Doe 2 damages on the claims of "assault, invasion of privacy, and intentional infliction of emotional distress," People reported.

The 41-year-old Allen must pay the accuser almost $597,000 in compensatory damages, plus an estimated $1.2 million in "punitive damages," according to the report.
The federal judge mentioned that the "reprehensibility" of Allen's alleged actions was "severe," People reported.
"The evidence shows that Mr. Allen intentionally and surreptitiously filmed his sexual encounter with plaintiff without her consent, and that he ejaculated inside of plaintiff without wearing a condom when plaintiff did not consent to him doing so and asked him not to do so," the court filing read. "These intentional acts caused plaintiff to suffer extreme emotional distress and trauma."

A magistrate judge in May recommended that the motion for damages should be granted to the accuser, including $253,142 for emotional harm, $3,505 for past treatment, and $340,200 for future treatment, plus $1,193,694 in punitive damages, according to court filings acquired by People.
Jimmie Allen hit with first sexual assault lawsuit
The latest ruling is tied to one of two sexual assault lawsuits brought against Allen by separate women in 2023.
A May 11, 2023, lawsuit was filed in U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee by the country star's former day-to-day manager, who is identified as Jane Doe.
According to the lawsuit, Allen's former manager accused the singer of using his position of power to regularly sexually abuse and harass her for 18 months, from May 2020 to 2022. She claimed Allen raped her and insisted she use a Plan B contraceptive to prevent pregnancy.
The ex-manager also sued the artist management company that hired her, Wide Open Music, and its founder, Ash Bowers, accusing him of knowingly failing to protect her after learning about the alleged abuse.
The first lawsuit against Allen came less than a month after the singer announced that he and his wife, Alexis Gale, were splitting, which eventually led to their divorce in October 2024, People reported.
Country star Jimmie Allen denies sexual assault claims
In a May 11, 2023, statement by his attorney, Allen confirmed that he and his former manager had a sexual relationship, but claimed it was consensual.
"It is deeply troubling and hurtful that someone I counted as one of my closest friends, colleagues and confidants would make allegations that have no truth to them whatsoever," Allen's statement read.
"I acknowledge that we had a sexual relationship — one that lasted for nearly two years. During that time she never once accused me of any wrongdoing, and she spoke of our relationship and friendship as being something she wanted to continue indefinitely. Only after things ended between us, did she hire a lawyer to reach out and ask for money, which leads me to question her motives."

According to the lawsuit, obtained by USA Today, Jane Doe 2 says she met Allen on a flight to Nashville on May 1, 2022, and gave his bodyguard her phone number.

After a night out and a couple of months of communication, she said she agreed to meet with Allen at a hotel in Las Vegas, where the singer assured her she'd have her own room. At the time, Allen had made claims about being in love with her and said he was separated from his wife, according to the lawsuit.
She said she joined Allen in his bedroom "willingly," but things took a turn.
He told her he would respect her request to use protection during sex, the lawsuit says. However, as the encounter continued, Allen did not follow that agreement and proceeded without a condom. He also told the plaintiff he wanted to get her pregnant, which she refused, according to the suit.
Allen refused to stop and passed out on the bed afterward, according to the complaint.
As Jane Doe 2 was leaving the room after the encounter, she alleged she saw Allen's phone in the closet and discovered it was filming, aimed at the bed. She said she deleted the footage and after she was unable to wake him, she took his phone and turned it in to her local police department when she returned home, who said they would report it to the Las Vegas authorities.

On July 13, 2023, Allen countersued both accusers, filing suits against the two women in Tennessee, reported by Billboard and People.
Allen filed the lawsuits to "protect my reputation and refute these claims that have caused severe damage to my family, mental health and business," he told People in a statement.
In March 2024, Allen and his ex-manager agreed to drop the claims against one another. In October 2024, the woman agreed to drop the claims against the other defendants in the matter.
