Entering the 2026 Women's NCAA Tournament with a 34-0 record, the Connecticut women's basketball team will try to add to its record 12 national championships.
In the three decades after winning their first title in 1995 under head coach Geno Auriemma, the Huskies have been the gold standard in women's college basketball. All-Americans Sarah Strong (18.5 points, 7.6 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 3.4 steals, and 1.6 blocks per game) and Azzi Fudd (17.7 points, 3.0 assists, 2.6 rebounds) are expected to lead UConn back to the Final Four, this year in Phoenix.

Among its national championships are six undefeated seasons, and during one stretch, UConn won an NCAA-record 111-game winning streak from 2014-2017. The Huskies are currently on a 49-game win streak and have not lost in the Big East in 69 games.
