Patricia Albassit spotted Jacob Elordi on her flight on March 3 and decided to ask the Oscar nominee for a photo
The pair got to chatting at the end of the flight, and after they deplaned, he bought her a copy of Wuthering Heights
He signed the book with a swoony inscription, and Albassit posted a photo of the book to TikTok
Jacob Elordi gifted two travelers something they’d never expected from their flight.
Elordi stars in the latest adaptation of Emily Brontë’s 1847 gothic romance novel, Wuthering Heights. He portrays Heathcliff opposite Margot Robbie’s Catherine in the Emerald Fennell film, which hit theaters on Valentine’s Day. Since its premiere, the actor has gone to great lengths to promote the film, even buying and signing the novel for fellow traveler Patricia Albassit (known on TikTok as @patriciaalbassit). Albassit later posted a now-viral TikTok detailing the interaction.
On Tuesday, March 3, the pair were flying on a Qantas commercial flight when Albassit noticed a familiar face putting away his carry-on luggage: the latest Heathcliff. The 29-year-old Australian woman believed it was the actor, 28, but wasn’t completely sure, she told Newsweek.
"So he just sat opposite me, but when he was trying to put his carry-on in the overhead locker, I kind of looked at him, and I was like, is that Jacob? I'm like, I know that guy, but what are the chances?" Albassit told the outlet.
It was as the plane descended that, on her way to the bathroom, Albassit walked past him and decided to approach the Oscar nominee. In her approach, she told him she was having a “s--- day,” but wanted to ask for a photo.

The Euphoria actor obliged, and the pair started to chat about their respective designer luggage. She told Newsweek, “He was like ‘I'll take a photo if you give me your Birkin.’ And we both started laughing.”
Before they deplaned, she quipped once more about the bad day she was having, noting “it's so crazy” because it was the “one day” she decided not to wear makeup. But the actor told her she was “beautiful” and finally snapped the photo.

Once everyone was in the terminal, Elordi told Albassit to wait, according to her TikTok comments. He then ran to one of the airport stores and came back with two copies of the novel, one for Albassit and one for her traveling companion. Elordi asked their names and wrote them messages inside the book.

The actor, whom she wrote in her TikTok comments, is the "sweetest human," then hugged her goodbye, and Albassits snapped a photo of the signed book.

Albassit later posted a selfie with Elordi, his inscription and a photo of him reading on the plane to her TikTok, prompting users to express their jealousy in the comments.
“I’m happy for you but not from the bottom of my heart,” one user wrote. Another joked, “For my mental health, this is AI.”
