Jennifer Hudson is celebrating a milestone moment for a fellow legend.
While speaking exclusively with PEOPLE and Entertainment Weekly’s respective hosts Janine Rubenstein and Patrick Gomez on the 2026 Grammys red carpet ahead of the award show in Los Angeles on Sunday, Feb. 1, Hudson, 44, reacted to Steven Spielberg officially joining the EGOT club.
The legendary filmmaker, 79, earned the final piece of the coveted awards sweep with a Grammy win for Best Music Film for Music by John Williams, which he produced.

Spielberg now has wins across all four major entertainment awards in television (Emmy), music (Grammy), film (Oscar), and theater (Tony). It's considered the grand slam of show business, a four-of-a-kind sweep that only the rarest of stars have been able to achieve.
“I love that Steven Spielberg, he got it today, which is amazing," Hudson, who joined the EGOT club herself in 2022, says. "The company that we’re in with all the EGOTs is insane because he won today, so I’m celebrating that as well."
Gomez then asked Hudson what advice she would offer as someone "welcoming him into the club."
“How in the world can I welcome Steven Spielberg?" Hudson replies. "He is the EGOT, and I’m like, wow, that cannot be overlooked. That is a major celebration."

“You are in amazing company, you are correct,” Rubenstein said.
“Exactly,” Hudson agrees.
Hudson knows the significance of the honor firsthand. The actress and singer officially achieved EGOT status in 2022 when A Strange Loop won Best Musical, which she produced, at the Tony Awards. The Tony was the last award Hudson needed to accomplish the feat.
Hudson's EGOT journey began with an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in 2007’s Dreamgirls. She went on to become a two-time Grammy winner, earning her first Grammy for her 2009 self-titled debut album. The American Idol alum later scored a Daytime Emmy for the animated short Baba Yaga, which she co-produced and voiced.
Spielberg has three Oscars for his work on Schindler's List and Saving Private Ryan, and Emmys for The Pacific and A Pinky & the Brain Christmas. Spielberg was also among the producers for the Best Musical Tony winner A Strange Loop.
The Grammys are broadcasting live from Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on CBS or stream them live and on-demand on Paramount+.
