Tyler Boebert, the 21-year-old son of Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert, is facing multiple felony charges related to the alleged sexual exploitation of a child in Colorado, weeks before he is scheduled to be sentenced in two separate cases, according to court records.
Tyler was arrested in Garfield County on Sunday, Aug. 9, on charges of child sexual exploitation of a child to induce or entice, sexual exploitation of a child, possession with intent, sexual exploitation of a child involving video and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, according to court records obtained by PEOPLE. The listed offense date is Jan. 1, 2024.
His arrest was first reported by Muckrakers.today. According to court records, an affidavit was filed Aug. 6 and a warrant based on the affidavit was issued Aug. 7. His bond was set at $10,000 that same day. The warrant was canceled Aug. 9.
Records reveal that a surety bond was posted and Tyler was released on the same day as his arrest. His next court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 19.

Tyler, the oldest of the Republican congresswoman’s four sons with her ex-husband, Jayson Boebert, is also scheduled to be sentenced in Weld County on Sept. 4 in connection with a 2025 child abuse case after pleading guilty to one count of negligence without injury and getting a second count dismissed, according to court records obtained by PEOPLE. He has a separate sentencing hearing scheduled on Sept. 10 in Garfield County, stemming from a February 2024 arrest after a string of vehicle trespasses and property thefts.
His latest legal troubles come as his mother’s reelection bid in Colorado’s 4th Congressional District looks increasingly vulnerable, despite her representing a solidly Republican district. The 39-year-old congresswoman faces a challenge from Democrat Eileen Laubacher, a recently retired Navy veteran.
Tyler could not immediately be reached for comment. PEOPLE has also sought comment from Lauren’s spokesperson.
