Lauren Sánchez Bezos is set to release her third children's book, The Fly Who Flew to the North Pole

Sánchez Bezos, who has dyslexia, uses her books to celebrate learning differences and encourage kids to embrace their uniqueness, she says

She's also reflecting on family milestones, including her first wedding anniversary with Amazon's Jeff Bezos and becoming an empty-nester to her three kids

Lauren Sánchez Bezos says her fans want another book and she's happy to oblige with a new children's story, the third in her Flynn the Fly series.

The Fly Who Flew to the North Poleis based around something special to her blended family, she tells PEOPLE.

"The holidays are a whirlwind in our house, and I love it," says the TV reporter-turned-philanthropist, married to one of the world's richest men, of the inspiration for her character's latest adventure, set to be released on Nov. 10.

"Having the whole family together means everything to me. It's such a magical time for kids, and that's exactly why I wanted to write this one — to take that holiday magic and wrap it around a story about learning differently," she says.

Sánchez Bezos, 56, who has been open about living with dyslexia, says that in her book "Rio the reindeer gets the chance of a lifetime to train as one of Santa's navigators. But the numbers and directions keep jumbling on the page right before his big test. That's where Flynn comes in. She helps him find his own way through."

Her original children's book, 2024'sThe Fly Who Flew to Space, was also drawn from some personal experiences as it followed Flynn after she was trapped in the cockpit of a helicopter she was flying. (Sánchez Bezos is a pilot herself and stirred up a raft of headlines when she headed to the edge of space last year.)

After the new Christmas book, Sánchez Bezos promises more adventures to come.

"I'm always thinking of the next adventure," she says. "Flynn is all about sparking curiosity and getting kids excited to dream big. Wherever she flies next, the heart stays the same: embrace what makes you you, look out for your friends, and know that a learning difference isn't a barrier. It can be your superpower."

In the meantime, she's also getting ready to celebrate her first wedding anniversary, on June 27. She married Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, 62, in a lavish, star-studded ceremony in Italy last summer.

"Time really does fly," she says of her first year as Mrs. Bezos. "We got married surrounded by family, and we'll be with family on our anniversary too. That's my favorite kind of celebration."

As far as other milestones, the mom of three (she shares son Nikko with former NFL star Tony Gonzalez and daughter Ella and son Evan with Patrick Whitesell, a prominent Hollywood agent), also recently watched her daughter graduate high school and prepare to head out to college.

Like so many other parents, she says she's processing her emotions about becoming an empty-nester.

"Let's just say I'm handling it the best I can!" she says. "I'm so proud watching them step into new chapters as kind, passionate adults. It's the best thing in the world."
