The “Truth Hurts” singer, 38, struck a pose in her metallic bikini alongside a swimming pool for a glammed-up Instagram post that she paired with a motivational caption in celebration of “Fat Liberation Month” on Sunday, Aug. 9.
Lizzo rocked a purple shimmery string bikini from her Yitty brand, featuring a tiny triangle top and high-waisted bottoms with bows tied on each side of her hips. She accessorized the glittery set with giant sunglasses and let her long, light brown curls flow freely.
For the shot, the Grammy winner — who was named the July 2026 digital cover star for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit — placed one hand on her hip and the other behind her head for a fierce, fashion-forward moment.
“Happy Fat Liberation Month 💕 calling all my ladies over 200 go outside n POP sumthin🙏🏾,” the pop star, who doubles as a body-inclusivity advocate, captioned her Instagram post.
Lizzo (born Melissa Jefferson) shared a second shot in the same swimsuit to her Instagram Stories. This time, she posed with her backside to the camera but turned her face to show off a different angle of the suit.
The musician previously spoke to PEOPLE about the mission behind Yitty Swim, saying she wanted the brand to help people feel more confident in themselves.

“I want people to find a product that makes them feel good,” Lizzo told PEOPLE in May. “My goal with Yitty has always been to create something that changes a person’s day for the better and the way they feel about themselves when they walk past the mirror.”
The “About Damn Time” singer’s inspirational post comes after she was named the July cover star for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, which she said she had “kind of manifested” her debut in the magazine.
“I was genuinely excited,” Lizzo said of learning she’d be part of the issue. “I was like, Wow, I kind of manifested this because I have Yitty Swim, which I love. Every time I do Yitty Swim, I always feel like it’s Sports Illustrated level. It’s only a matter of time when these worlds collide.”

That excitement only grew when she learned she wasn’t just appearing in the issue — she’d landed the cover.
“I was super excited to do the runway show, and then they were like, ‘You’re on the cover, b----,’” Lizzo recalled. “I was like, ‘Hell yeah, bring it on!’ I love it. I love it.”
For the singer, the achievement carried even greater significance because of how much representation has changed since she first saw the magazine as a child.
“When I was younger, I saw it and never imagined somebody with my body type would be on the cover,” she said. “It’s just incredible to see how we’ve redefined sexy, redefined confidence and redefined what a swimsuit body is since I was a kid.”
