Speaking with Sky News Australia host Paul Murray, Megyn Kelly analyzed Savannah Guthrie’s recent Instagram video about her 84-year-old mother Nancy’s kidnapping. In that message, Savannah shared new details about the night Nancy disappeared, including the claim that her mother was “taken from her bed.”
“I thought there were a couple of interesting things in Savannah’s latest message,” Kelly said. According to her, earlier theories had centered on whether Nancy may have been lured to the door. If Savannah’s account is accurate, Kelly argued, “This altercation began while this poor 84-year-old was asleep in her bed.”
That said, it was Savannah’s mention of her sister, Annie, that was of particular interest to Kelly. Referencing Savannah’s comments about family prayers, Kelly claimed the inclusion felt intentional.

“She mentions her sister and the prayers that they’ve been sharing and that seems to be somewhat of a tacit endorsement,” Kelly said. She went on to speculate that Savannah may have been signaling that her sister, and possibly her brother-in-law, had “nothing to do with it.” “There’s no reason to mention the sister otherwise,” Kelly added.
Kelly’s remarks build on previous commentary she has made about the Guthrie family. On her podcast, she questioned dynamics within the family, even speculating about caregiving responsibilities and potential sibling tensions. Those claims have sparked criticism online, with some accusing Kelly of overreaching during a sensitive investigation.
In her latest comments, Kelly also pointed to Savannah’s offer of a $1 million reward. According to the former, law enforcement leads have allegedly failed to produce results. She characterized the reward as a strategic move, saying it could be aimed at pressuring someone with information to come forward.
