For the daughters of Queen Letizia and King Felipe VI, the Spanish royal familyâs most in-demand piece isnât a crown jewel or an heirloom gem. Instead, it seems to be a blue-and-white maxi dress.
Last night, Infanta SofĂa headed to dinner in Palma de Mallorca with her older sister, Princess Leonor. And for the family outing, she selected a long ruffled dress that weâve seen before. With off-the-shoulder cape sleeves and a lightweight feel, the piece was recognizable as the work of Barcelona-based label Desigual, designed in collaboration with Stella Jean.

The ankle-length skirt was crafted with a tiered silhouette, and each panel had its own aquatic print with abstracted scenes of fish, shells, and birds.
The maxi dress, which the younger daughter wore with white espadrilles and a pink beaded bracelet, was first seen on her mother some three years ago. In August 2023, while in Mallorca herself, Letizia debuted the look at a reception held at the familyâs summer residence, Marivent Palace. She paired the piece with similar shoes, only with a thicker wedge.
Two years later, in August of 2025, Leonor took the number out of her motherâs closet (it seems to live permanently at the Mallorca palace) and tried her hand at styling itâwearing the coveted style with navy-blue espadrilles and gold earrings. The heir to the throne wore the same shoes this year, this time with a deep-blue dress from Babbaki, featuring a halter neckline, a low back, and an all-over swan print in magenta.
