Reba McEntire tells PEOPLE she and fiancé Rex Linn "have the best time working together"

The pair, who got engaged in December 2024, have starred alongside each other numerous times in their more than three decades of knowing each other

"He's the best award show date. He's the best date ever," McEntire says

Reba McEntire and Rex Linn are amazing partners, on and off the screen.

While chatting with PEOPLE on the red carpet at the 2026 Grammys, the iconic country singer, 70, shed light on what it's like to act alongside her fiancé, 69 — and in so many different contexts.

McEntire says it's a thrill getting to tackle so many projects with Linn, who popped the question in December 2024. The singer adds that their harmony on screen underscores their relationship in real life.

"Rex and I have the best time working together," McEntire gushes. "We've done movies together, television shows together, dramady and sitcoms."

The pair currently star on the NBC sitcom Happy's Place. In the past, they have shared screentime in Big Sky, The Hammer, Young Sheldon and The Gambler Returns: The Luck of the Draw.

After first meeting on the set of The Gambler Returns in 1991, Linn and McEntire reconnected in January 2020. They announced they were dating later that year. After nearly five years together, Linn got down on one knee and popped the question in a Christmas Eve proposal.
