Savannah Guthrie has returned to the Today show after an extended break.

On Monday, Aug. 10, Guthrie rejoined her co-anchor, Craig Melvin, as she headed back to Studio 1A.

“Nice to be back home,” Guthrie said, to which Melvin replied, “Glad to have you back, we missed you!”

Guthrie had been absent from the Today show since July 21, as she filmed an entire season of her upcoming Wordle game show.

“It was fun, we had a little game show summer,” Guthrie said of her break from the show.

Melvin then had a surprise for Guthrie, informing her: “Here’s the thing, you might not see me again. If I hit the Powerball tonight, I’m playing tonight, if I hit it, SG, it was a fun ride while it lasted.”

Guthrie smiled and questioned, “You’re not one of those, ‘I’ll still go to work every day?’ ”

After Melvin confirmed that he had no plans to return to the Today show if he hit the lottery jackpot, Guthrie noted, “It’s $905,000,000, a lot of people are dreaming big this morning.”

The show later reported on the near-billion-dollar prize, bringing in lots of Powerball hopefuls.

In addition to her time on Wordle, Guthrie also recently met up with her former anchor, Hoda Kotb. The pals posed for a picture together, with Kotb writing on Instagram, “My favorite place… next to you ❤️ @savannahguthrie.”

Last month, Guthrie spoke out about her mother Nancy‘s abduction, with Aug. 1 marking six months since she was taken from her Tucson, Ariz., home. Half a year later, no suspects have been named.

Ahead of the anniversary, Guthrie posted an emotional plea to her mother’s abductors, begging them to give her family closure.

“We have done our part and we will never stop looking for her,” she said. “We will always ache for her and feel that hole in our hearts.”

Guthrie added, “So I’m asking you, begging you to do the right thing now. Make the right choice. Help us find her, tell us where to look for her. I truly believe it is never too late to do the right thing. Help us bring this situation to an end for all of us.”
