It's a rough day for talk shows.

Just hours after Kelly Clarkson announced the end of her eponymous daytime show, Lionsgate’s producer/distributor banner Debmar-Mercury confirmed comedian Sherri Shepherd’s talk show, *Sherri*, is also ending after four seasons.

“This decision is driven by the evolving daytime television landscape and does not reflect on the strength of the show, its production — which has found strong creative momentum this season — or the incredibly talented Sherri Shepherd,” Debmar-Mercury co-presidents Ira Bernstein and Mort Marcus said in a joint statement. “We believe in this show and in Sherri and intend to explore alternatives for it on other platforms.”

Production on season 4 will continue as planned with the series airing its final episodes in the fall. Shepherd has yet to weigh in on the news publicly, and a rep for the star did not immediately return **'s request for comment Monday.

However, ahead of season 4, Shepherd previously said in a statement, per *Deadline*, “I don’t take it for granted that people welcome me into their homes daily. I work so hard to bring escapism to viewers’ lives through joy, laughter and inspiration, and I’m grateful that the audience has embraced what we do. I look forward to raising the bar and turning up the volume as we plan for our season four return.”**

According to *Variety*, *Sherri* had most recently been upped through the 2025-2026 TV season on station groups such as the Fox TV Stations, Nexstar, Hearst, Sinclair, Gray, Tegna and Sunbeam.

*Sherri* aired its first episode on Sept. 12, 2022. To date, it's nabbed 6 Daytime Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host for Shepherd. The show has also won two NAACP Image Awards, one for Outstanding Talk Series in 2023 and another for Outstanding Host in a Talk or News/Information (Series or Special) - Individual or Ensemble.

Just hours before this cancellation was announced, Clarkson took to her Instagram account to reveal she was choosing to end her own show after seven seasons. "This was not an easy decision, but this season will be my last hosting *The Kelly Clarkson Show*," she wrote in her lengthy post, which was shared jointly with the show's Instagram account. "Stepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives."

*The Kelly Clarkson Show*'s ending comes just months after the death of Brandon Blackstock, Clarkson's former talent manager and ex-husband, who died Aug. 7 at the age of 48. The couple shared two children, daughter River Rose, 11, and son Remy, 9.

*Sherri* airs weekdays in syndication.**
