SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) ā Popular reality series āThe Bacheloretteā will not be appearing on ABCās summer schedule this year after the season was scrapped due to controversy surrounding this seasonās star, Taylor Frankie Paul.
ABC pulled the newest season of The Bachelorette after a 2023 video of Paul and her ex, Dakota Mortensen, involved in a domestic violence incident resurfaced.
āIn light of the newly released video just surfaced today,ā a statement from ABC released in March reads, āWe have made the decision to not move forward with the new season ofĀ The BacheloretteĀ at this time, andĀ our focus is on supporting the family.ā

Paul and her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, who is the father of their 2-year-old son, were ordered late April to stay 100 feet away from each other for the next three years as a Utah court commissioner continues to assess custody plans for the child. Their relationship became public after they starred on āThe Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,ā drawing attention to their ongoing custody battle.
Rumors have circulated online, particularly by Steve Carbone, better known as āReality Steve,ā a prominent reality television blogger and podcaster, that The Bachelorette might still air this year. The network has now been confirmed that this is not happening.
