One woman was puzzled when she noticed her brother Matt, who has Down syndrome, adjusting the railing on the stairs in her home.

Curious about what he was doing, Erin Johnson, who goes by @erinadvocates on social media, pulled out her camera and recorded the moment — later sharing it on TikTok.

"I was trying to figure out why my brother with Down Syndrome was messing with the banister, and then it clicked," she wrote in the video.

As she watched, the full story became clear. Johnson, who is also a mom to a boy with Down syndrome, realized her brother was making the railing so her son could continue to use it to climb the stairs by himself.

"The wholesome plot twist we all needed 🥹," Johnson, a content creator, captioned the post.

Since posting, the video has gone viral, amassing nearly three million views and 1,500 comments, with viewers sharing their reactions to the sweet moment.

"I'm not sobbing, you are," one user wrote.

"That's a good man right there ❤," another replied.

Someone else commented, "He was making sure his nephew was going to be safe!! 😊"

"He's a fantastic uncle to the kids and a pretty awesome brother ❤️," another person wrote, to which Johnson responded, "100%."
